Objective of the systemization of the occult teaching in the Book of the Law

The Book of the Law states that the purpose of its Magickal teachings and practices is to produce ‘prophets’ of the new aeon. The method that it outlines is the work of the wand and of the sword, or invocation and evocation, thereby implying a classically styled ceremonial practice. Further, it goes on to define Thelemites as belonging to three ‘grades’, implying a progression in steps to an ultimate achievement or attainment. Bearing all of these things in mind I assembled all of the elementary information required to pass the five lowest grades of the Golden Dawn, pared the material down to those practices and teachings that are strictly necessary and free of old dogma, and assembled them according to their correspondence to the Elemental Grades. Following this I went over the material and determined that it was in consonance with the teachings in the Book of the Law and so I fashioned a manual of self initiation into the elementary grades of a new Thelemite Magickal Order, sanctioned by the instructions in the Book of the Law. The graded instructions had their origin in my own studies as I pursued the Path of Initiation employing the Golden Dawn method of attainment. This was also the method that was used by Crowley in his own spiritual disciplines. From these facts it seems reasonable to deduce that the method outlined in the Book of the Law would follow this same, or a similar pattern of development. The Qabalah is mentioned in the text of the Book of the Law and one of the instructions to the child of the beast is to find new symbols to attribute the letters of the English (Latin) Alphabet to. If the central study of Thelemite Magick begins with a new Qabalah then it follows that a school which codifies Thelema’s teachings would model itself on the Holy Qabalah as well.
