Changes at dgmattichakjr’s blog

I began this blog on the Autumnal Equinox in 2010 as a means of connecting with people, of getting my writing and my ideas out to the public for their genuine appraisal and I have certainly managed to do all of that. I first published my already well known essay The Key to the Order and Value of the English Alphabet (on the Equinox) and then in my first post on my new blog I began by making my ambition for the blog clear, saying,
The purpose with which I have established this weblog is to provide a platform that I can use to publicize the many things that I have been working on.” I think that I have at least managed to do that.

As I approach the second anniversary of dgmattichakjr’s blog I have taken stock of how it has evolved and have decided to make a few changes to make it easier for you, the reader, to navigate around and find things. I was inspired by the fantastic post on The Naked Listener’s Weblog last month entitled You Don’t Blog? which was a comprehensive look at all things Blog and if you are a blogger it is a must read. The Naked Listener has even been kind enough to package his pearls of cyber wwwisdom into a handy PDF book that will become the viral bible of blogging I am sure.

Following his esteemed advice I have reconfigured the page a bit, moved my blogroll to its own page and started a top posts list on another page to make them more legible and to free up space in the widgets sidebar on the right. I have also removed some old pages that had gone well past their use-by date and, for the first time, have added an About D G Mattichak jr page so that my readers can have a place to contact me with their suggestions and criticisms.

I hope that this makes the blog a better experience for my visitors. I have become addicted to blogging and if a few days pass without making a post I start to get itchy fingers. I look back now on two years of blogging, on all of the things that blogging has given me the opportunity to write about and hope that I have it in me to keep writing as I have done. This blog has connected me with people everywhere and been, on occasion, the forum for some excellent debates and informative comments. I am looking forward to words that I have yet written here and hope that you are all still reading them in two years from now.

About dgmattichakjr

D G Mattichak jr was born in 1963 in Syracuse New York and immigrated to Melbourne Australia with his family in 1972. He was educated in one of Melbourne’s exclusive private schools before studying art at Preston Technical College. D G Mattichak jr has been a student of the occult arts since the early 1980s and has become well known in Australian magickal circles and, in recent years, around the world due to a string of essays on a variety of occult subjects . He discovered the “key to the order & value of the English alphabet” from Aleister Crowley’s Book of the Law in 1983 and has since used this English Qabalah to unlock the secrets of Thelemite magick. Success in these methods admitted him to the highest levels of attainment in various Hermetic disciplines and until recently he has been passing on his knowledge to private students, many of whom have gone on to become notable occultists in their own right. After almost three decades of study and development D G Mattichak jr has finally been able to distil his knowledge of magick and Thelema into a book- A Comment on the Verses of the Book of the Law, the first in a planned series of books on Hermeticism and Thelemite magick, revealing, for the first time in over a century, the secrets of magick that have been hidden in Crowley’s magnum opus, the Book of the Law. D G Mattichak jr currently lives in Melbourne Australia with his artist wife Michelle and their two cats. He has had a long career as an al a carte chef in Melbourne’s vibrant hospitality scene and now spends his time writing blogs on cooking, writing and, in the guise of Master Ankh af na Khonsu, about magick. He is also one of the founding members of the Mt Franklin Annual Pagan Gathering and regularly contributes to its official website as both an administrator and as an author. D G Mattichak jr’s first book Loot was released in 2009. His books are available through at G Mattichak&x=13&y=20 .

  1. I wish I could write such ‘disciplined’ and tightly focused, concisely worded copy like this. Thank you for the plug.

    • I wish that I could write posts like yours with your free flowing, edgy language spiced with just the right amount of cynicism. Us bloggers have to stick together man.

  2. Ed Hurst says:

Don’t think I’m not learning from the both of you, as well. We need to stick together, indeed.

    • I wish that I could post as consistently as you do and stay on topic for as long too. It was your blog that inspired me to branch out into writing about fiat money and conspiracy theory so I have been learning from you too Ed.
