Facebook Occultists

This has been a revolution is the once eremitic world of magick and it has spawned a generation of online occultists of different descriptions. The place where these post modern magi meet to swap incantations in the 21st Century is Facebook. An ardent seeker can find hundreds of open groups on the social site that have the word “magick” or “witchcraft” in their names and the variations on these make for tens of thousands of groups, some small and other with thousands of members, that are devoted to the discussion of the occult. The End of the World Has Been Postponed Due to Technical Difficulties

Interestingly the end of the world fan club on social media have simply dropped the whole December 21st phenomenon as if it wasn’t really that important after all and have gone back to rallying for the unflouridation of our water supplies and other low level urban conspiracies that they are won’t to amuse themselves with. The Never Ending Countdown to Armageddon- 21 December 2012

I have already written about the end of the Mayan Calendar and I don’t see the point in repeating myself and my opinions about the Western beat up of a solidly sensible apprehension of existence that is being used as an excuse to distract people from the truth. Reading the Signposts on the Road to the End of the World

Last December I wrote a post here called The Shape of Things in which I examined the ALTA report for December 2011. For those of you that aren’t familiar with Half Past Human (HPH), the Shape of Things report is a monthly analysis of the language that we are using on the internet. By examining the nature of the language that we are using in our online content Hugh Clif at HPH claims to have been able to make some remarkably accurate prognostications on future events. Mayan Calendar Memes, Facebook Friends and Armageddon

I am a fan of the great and wise Philosoraptor and I recently posted a Philosoraptor meme on Facebook that asked the searching question; “If the world doesn’t end in 2012 do we just assume that the Mayan calendar starts again?” My self-indulgent meme elicited a response from a friend that informed me that there was a Mayan Elder named Don Alejandro Perez Oxlaj that had explained that the end is only of the fourth Sun age and that a fifth one is of course set to follow it. I was intrigued and so I asked him if he had any references and he very kindly sent me a DVD of an interview of Don Alejandro by Carl Callemn that discusses the meaning of the calendar of the Mayans and what the end of it means for the world.
